ADVANTEC NEW PROJECT UPDATE

ADVANTEC has been awarded new contracts with the cities of Escondido, Industry, and Pico Rivera to develop each of their citywide ITS Master Plans. Their ITS Master Plans will provide the agencies with a foundation to migrate to future emerging multi-modal transportation technologies including a Traffic Management Center (TMC), fiber optic communications secured network, open architecture technologies, Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV), Big Data, Integrated Corridor Management (ICM), Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), Mobility on Demand (MOD), and Smart Cities initiatives. Each ITS Master Plan will be prepared using ITS Standards and will be based on FHWA’s ITS Architecture and requirements, including Concept-of- Operations and System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP). In addition, each ITS Master Plan will incorporate the vision of their region to prepare the agencies to enhance connectivity, increase safety and sustainability, and improve the quality of life in their communities.
