Mr. Tai is a project manager in ADVANTEC. Mr. Tai brings over over 36 years of Transportation and Traffic Engineering experience in both private and public sectors. In his first job, he worked at DKS Associates in many traffic signal timing coordination projects using TRANSYT 7F.  He later worked at the City of Oakland as a Transportation Engineer and obtained his Professional Traffic Engineer registration in CA in 1987.  He later relocated to Southern California and worked in the City of Pasadena as the Principal Traffic Engineer covering a wide range of areas in Traffic Engineering, operation and safety, traffic study reviews, and was involved in Transportation Management including working with the Planning Department on the City's Growth Management Program.  He started working in the Riverside County Transportation Department in 1990 as the Deputy County Traffic Engineer.  In 2018, he retired as the County Traffic Engineer.  In his 28 years with RCTD, he managed the Traffic Engineering and Design Division working with state, local and law enforcement agencies.  His responsibilities included traffic investigations, traffic operation and safety, traffic signal design and operations, grant preparations and expert witnessing in traffic collision legal cases.Recently, Lawrence joined ADVANTEC as a Project Manager, and hopes to continue to contribute to furthering traffic safety and assisting local agencies.
