Project Description:

ADVANTEC staff was the Senior Advisor for this project, which involved three different PS&E packages for the City of Pasadena’s Traffic System Management (TSM) program: CCTV/communications; Changeable Message Signs (CMS); and a low-watt HAR system. ADVANTEC staff led the PS&E effort to install 10 CCTV Cameras and six Changeable Message Signs (CMS), and assisted the City in completing a technology assessment study which led to selecting a specific type of sign and identified standard maintenance practices.

ADVANTEC staff also designed and installed a low-power micro-transmitter Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) system along three zones within the City of Pasadena.  Working closely with the City’s System Manager, we provided design/build services in an effort to install 31 micro-transmitters at critical intersections, base controllers, a digital recorder, and TMC revisions in order to provide traveler information.  This system was installed prior to the 1994 World Cup.
